Audrey Jeanne Stevens, 93, passed away at home on Saturday, July 6, 2024, following a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Audrey was born in Alpena on Oct. 15, 1930, to the late Patrick J. and Bertha (Grenier) LaChance. She married George B. Stevens Sr. on Sept. 25, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2008. Together they raised 12 children.

She was a career mother who loved to cook, and a gracious host to many gatherings at Long Lake where she and George spent several years before making their home in Wyndham Gardens.

An avid bridge player, Audrey played bridge for over 60 years into her nineties, sometimes three times a week.

Audrey is survived by her 12 children; George Jr. (Barb) Stevens, Adele (Doug) Moore, Gary (Maureen) Stevens, Barbara (James) Lappan, Janet (Kenneth) Behnke, Mary Luft, Sharon (Dave) Hall, Betty Campau, Judith Stevens, Charles Stevens, Thomas (Mallory) Stevens, and Andrea (Tony) Skiba.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia Seguin.

She was preceded in death by her sisters; Viola Davison, Joyce LaChance, Patricia LaChance; two brothers, Richard LaChance and Cletis Burnette; her daughter-in-law, Donna (Guthrie) Stevens, and son-in-law, LaVerne "Zeke" Luft.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Aloysius Okpala officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
