YVONNE M. COPPING

Yvonne M. "Nana" Copping, 93, of Alpena, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Besser Senior Living.

Yvonne Burke was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Flint, to the late Zigman and Leonore (Laundry) Burke. On June 21, 1951, she married Kenneth Copping. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1983. Together they owned and operated Copping Distributing in the 1950's until forming C & S Transportation in 1969, adding C & S Carriers in 1990 until her retirement in 2019. Yvonne became president of the company following Ken's death in 1983. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed Bingo, bowling, and playing cards.

Surviving are her son, James (Lynn) Copping; daughter-in-law, Laurie Copping; six grandchildren, Travis (Ashley) Konarzewski, Matthew Copping, Jamie (Chris Werle) Copping, Kelsie Copping, Katelyn (Robert Berry) Copping, Brianna (Doug) Snow; 12 great-grandchildren, Logan, Levi, Landon, Maximus, Penelope, Tucker, Aiden, Wyatt, Colton, Chase, Genevieve, Sophia; sister, Patricia Sheeran; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Copping was preceded in death by her daughter, Patti (Robert) Konarzewski; son, Kim Copping; stepfather, Lester McSorley; stepbrothers, Charles McSorley and Lester McSorley.

Visitation will take place Sunday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. and continue there Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Shipman officiating.
