Darlene Jean Cordes, 79, of Hillman, passed away at home on June 14, 2024.
She was born April 2, 1945, in Rogers City to Edward and Ida (Schaedig) Karsten.
Darlene is survived by three children, Gordon Jr. “Gordie” (Valerie) Cordes of Hillman, Nancy (Walter Hickey) Kinn of Hillman and Bryan (Darlene A.) Cordes of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Gordon Cordes III “Bill”, Felicia (Justin) Cumper, Daniel Kinn, Tiffany (Hunter) Linseman; Patrick (fiance, Cheyenne VanCamp) Cordes and Nicholas Cordes; two great-granddaughters, Amelia Cumper and Averi Cumper; a great-grandson, Archer Linseman; sister, Ruth Grossman; sister-in-law, Geraldine Lightfoot; a brother-in-law, Arthur “Bud” Adrian; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; two grandchildren, Charles and Anna; a son-in-law, Leonard Kinn; two brothers, Howard Karsten, and Edward (Shirley) Karsten Jr.; a sister, Janice Adrian; and a brother-in-law, William Grossman.
Darlene enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Friends may visit at St. John Lutheran Church in Royston on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of her funeral at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jason Mandley officiating.
Interment will take place next to her husband Gordon at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church “Live Streaming” in memory of Darlene Cordes.
