SCOTT E. THOMPSON

Scott E. Thompson, 51, of San Diego, Calif., passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Lakeview Hospice Care Home in La Mesa, Calif., surrounded by his loved ones.

Scott was born Aug. 19, 1972, to Nancy and David Thompson. After graduating from Alpena High School, Scott served in the United States Navy for four years, traveled much of the world and was proficient as a Sonar Technician. After his discharge from the Navy, Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix. He worked for Pepsi for 17 years.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jaylynn and two fine sons Bryan and Nathan. He is also survived by his parents Nancy and Dave and his brother Tony (Laura) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Scott was most comfortable in a crowd, engaging, laughing, and sharing. His support group during his journey was immense and his family thanks all who were a part of it. Scott knew he was loved.

A celebration of Scott’s life is being planned in San Diego. A portion of his cremated remains will then be brought back to Alpena to also celebrate his life here at home. Internment will eventually be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Details of his memorial service are being planned for a later date and will be announced in a future edition of the Alpena News.
