KAREN MARIE SHELTON

Karen Marie Shelton, 54, of Herron passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Karen Marie Hynek was born in Seattle, Wash. on Oct. 22, 1969, to Richard and Susan (LaForge) Hynek. She married Johnie Shelton on May 21, 2000. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2017. Karen enjoyed doing crafts, Scooby Doo, the outdoors, exploring lighthouses, but most importantly was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her three daughters, Julee Shelton, Jessie Shelton, Ashley (Cody) Brumett; four grandchildren, Sophia, Johnie, Christian, AJ; her mother, Susan Hynek; four siblings, Melissa Davis, Stephanie (Robert) Pollock, Cindy (Michael) Gillispie, Brian (fiancee Manda Donajkowski) Hynek; several nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hynek.

A celebration of Karen’s Life will take place at the Sturgeon Point Lighthouse Park on July 20, 2024. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
