DONALD JAMES HENLEY

Donald James Henley, 76, of Findlay, passed away on April 26, 2024, at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He was born Sept. 5, 1947, in Thomasville, Ga., to the late Cecil James and Pauline (Lyons) Henley. He married Pauletta Lee Patchitt on May 7, 1966, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children: Dwight (Quyen) Henley, of Findlay, Benjamin (Ti) Henley, of Findlay, and KaSaundra (Joseph) Arellano, of Findlay; siblings: Ralph (Rebecca) Henley, of Findlay, and Nancy (Dan) Neer, Windham, Ohio; and his four grandchildren: Brianna, Liliane, Dominick and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald and Michael Henley, and his sister, Carolyn Dye.

Don proudly served in the United States Army in the 5th Infantry Division, Quang Tri, Vietnam, during the Vietnam War and was on the 2019 Flag City Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Following his service, he worked for Austin Powder, while there he was involved in the blasting project on the Soo Locks, in Sault Ste Marie and Ontario, Canada. He retired as a senior blaster and manager. In his free time, Don loved to fish and work on vintage cars. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Findlay, Ohio, where he was a fisher of men, proudly witnessing for Christ.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 7839 Co Rd 236, Findlay, OH, 45840. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at the church with Pastor Benjamin Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens where members of the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will accord military rites.
