CHARLES E. GALLAGHER

Charles E. Gallagher, 73, born in St. Ignace, raised in Alpena, and lived in Bradenton, Fla. where he passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Cindy, three children Scharline and Steve Kanouse, Charlie and Michele Gallagher, Kelli and Steve Vaartjes, seven grandchildren, Matthew (Jessi), Joshua (Megan), Kelli (Bryan), Sabrina, Zack, Alex, Nick, nine great-grandchildren (McKenzie, Chloe, Kylee, Easton, Addison, Braxton, Mia, Jace & Brooklyn). Sister, Maryann (Robert) Wcisel, Brothers Robert (Judy) Gallagher, Mike (Adele) Gallagher, Danny (Dona) Gallagher and David (Ronda) Gallagher along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Scharline Gallagher and Brothers Ronald and Patrick Gallagher and Sister Diane Kruse. Chuck supported those around him through his caring and generosity. He had an unforgettable smile and special way that had a positive impact on the lives of those around him. Chuck was a leader in the building supply industry for more than 30 years passing along his strong work ethic and passion of the industry to three generations including his brother, son, son-in-law, granddaughter, and grandsons. Mass will be held at St. Bernards church in Alpena on Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. Following will be a celebration of life at Grand Lake Resort and a grave side ceremony in St. Ignace cemetery on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024.
