ROSE MARY FREESE

Rose Mary Freese, 80, of Alpena, passed away on March 27, 2024, in Tampa, Fla.

Rose Mary Baker was born July 9, 1943, in Newport News, Va., to the late George and Regina (Ristau) Baker. On May 4, 1962, she married William Freese. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2021.

Alongside her beloved husband Bill, she enjoyed winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. She dedicated much of her time to genealogy, researching and documenting the Baker and Ristau family trees. Additionally, she found joy in the simple pleasure of camping, an activity she looked forward to every summer. A proud member of the Class of 1962, Rose played an instrumental role in organizing class reunions, her efforts in bringing people together will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Rose Mary was also a charter member of St. John Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Melissa Marwede; grandson, Trevor Marwede; brother, George Baker; and sister-in-law, Sandra Baker.

Memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, April 10, at Bannan Funeral Home from noon until the memorial service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.
