ROBERT NORMAN SKUSE

Robert Norman Skuse, 84, of Alpena, passed away on Jan. 25, 2024, at his home.

Bob was born April 8, 1939, in Lincoln, to the late Thomas and Dorena (Bolton) Skuse. He worked as a meat manager at Kroger and Neimans, retiring to expand his gun shop which he continued to own and operate until present. Bob enjoyed hunting all game around the world, except Antarctica and Australia. Bob was inducted into the Alpena Sports Hall of Fame in 2016, a member of Alpena Sportsman’s Club, PK Fletcher Gun Club, NRA, and Safari International Club.

Bob always said that he felt so fortunate to have had such a blessed life.

Surviving are his two sons, Thomas Skuse, Michael (fiancee Debbie Wiltse) Skuse; granddaughter, Brittan (fiancee Ryan Hanrahan) Skuse; great-granddaughter, Alanna Mousseau; dear friend, Vi Pashley; and “adopted son”, Randy Cole.

Bob was preceded in death by granddaughter, Heather Skuse; grandson Gabrial Skuse; siblings, Merlin Skuse, Isabelle Berkenpas, Dorothy Spahr, and John Skuse.

Memorial visitation will take place on May 4, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at noon with the Rev. William Rayment officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
