KARL WERNER MILTZ

Karl Werner Miltz, 89, of Black River passed away on April 23, 2024, at Medilodge of Alpena.

Karl was born July 23, 1934, in Andernach, Germany, to the late Karl and Maria (Hilt) Miltz. On April 18, 1959, he married Doris LaFave. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 2011. He later married Sandra Beauchamp on May 10, 2014. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Later, he worked at the U.S. Post Office as a carrier and engaged in farming. Karl was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Surviving are his children, Karl (Dawn) Miltz, Tina (Chris) Gauthier, Michael (Vicki) Miltz; six grandchildren, Nathan (Tina) Miltz, Katie Miltz, Jason (Lisa) Gauthier, Lesley Gauthier, Justin Miltz, Arieana Miltz; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Amelia, Adalyn, Hayes, Merek, Jensen, Roman, Raven; his wife, Sandra and her family; two sisters, Dorli Bach and Birgitt Pagel.

Karl was preceded in death by his infant son, Joseph; two siblings, Einhard Miltz and Ursala Gerdom.

Visitation will take place Monday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. with military honors by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496 at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.

Interment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery
