RICHARD ALAN PRICE

Richard Alan Price, 74, of Alpena, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2024, at home with his family by his side.

Richard was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Harold and Lois (Haddix) Price and moved to Alpena in 1952. He worked at Alpena Aggregate for 43 years and served in the United States Army for two years. Richard was on the Maple Ridge Fire Department as Fire Chief for many years. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ferris, on Aug. 21, 1971. Richard loved to hunt with his grandsons.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia; children, Jim (Jolene) Price, Tricia (Kevin) Hahn; grandchildren, Keegan, Josh and Evan Hahn, Carson Price, Alex Shull; sister, Cindy Soltysiak; sister-in-law, Julie Ferris; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Manning, Debbie Smith; in-laws, Ruth and Donald Ferris; brothers-in-law, Ronald Ferris and Ronald Soltysiak.

Visitation will take place Wednesday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. with military honors at 5 p.m. accorded him by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496 and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at St. Bernard Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Aloysius Okpala officiating.
