NORBERT DONALD ROZNOWSKI

May 28, 1934 – March 22, 2024

Norbert Donald Roznowski, 89, of Lachine, passed away on March 22, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Norbert was born in Hamtramck on May 28, 1934, to the late Anthony and Josephine (Pelc) Roznowski. On Feb. 16, 1957, he married Leona Styma. He was employed at National Gypsum in Alpena for 29 years, retiring in 1984 due to a back injury and later worked on family potato farms. After retiring he enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden, dancing, cutting firewood, taking care of his flowers and yard. He loved hunting season and camping at the flood waters to fish. Most importantly, spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norbert will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Leona; five children, Donald (Kim) Roznowski, Karen (Daniel) Grochowski, Kathy (Zig) Wojda, Brian Roznowski, Jon (Karla) Roznowski; nine grandchildren; Ryan, Kristen, Sara, Amanda, Megan, Jacob, Luke, Nick, Brody; nine great-grandchildren, Collin, Camren, Alexis, Emmet, Elle, Josie, Isaac, Ely, Jaxon; eight siblings, Ed (Susan) Roznowski, Tony (Karen) Roznowski, Dorothy Wozniak, Mary Jane Lamp, Lottie (Pat) Couture, Lorraine Gorton, Marcia (Leroy) Woloszyk, Barb Straughen; sister-in-law, Martha Roznowski; many nieces and nephews.

Norbert was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Roznowski; brother, Walter Roznowski; four brothers-in-law, Paul Wozniak, Bernie Lamp, Donald Gorton and Bill Stroughen.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the Bannan Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charlie Donajkowski officiating.

Interment: St. Casimir Cemetery
