LORRAINE LUCILLE DIETZ

Lorraine Lucille Dietz passed away at home on March 4, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born on June 28, 1926, to the late John and Harriet (Wyman) Montie. In January 2008, Lorraine moved to Rockford with her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Dave Jardine. Under their selfless and loving care, she was blessed with new friendships in a new community. The family is grateful and thankful for the gracious gift they gave to Lorraine and her whole family. She married Carl Dietz at the Greely Baptist Church on July 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1993. She was employed at the Alpena General Hospital for 25 years as a nurse’s aide and retired in 1988.

Lorraine is survived by her three sons, Mel (Vicki) Dietz of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Craig (Pam) Dietz, Bruce (Julie) Dietz both of Alpena and Darlene (David) Jardine of Rockford; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Erica, Alecia, Trisha, Lynsie, Justin, Kayla, Shane and Jason; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Jane (Steve) Kline of Brooksville, Fla. along with several extended family members.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Samuel Montie, Leonard Montie, Clifford Montie, Floyd Montie, Gloria Freese; two children at birth David and Anne Marie as well as her granddaughter, Jenna.

A Celebration of Life for Lorraine will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Huron Fellowship Church, 3558 M-32 West, Alpena, MI 49707.
