THOMAS ALLEN GLOMSKI
May 15, 1951 – Feb. 2, 2024
Thomas Allen Glomski, 72, of Alpena, passed away on Feb. 2, 2024, at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Born on May 15, 1951, in Alpena, Tom was a man of many talents and an embodiment of warmth and gentleness.
Tom was the cherished son of the late Gabriel and Rita (Kowalski) Glomski. His journey through life was shared with his loving wife, Elizabeth, and together they raised a beautiful family. His legacy is carried on by his children: Meghan (Billy) Anderson, Jessica (Matt) Gillard, Lindsey Glomski (Ronnie Monk), Jessica Grant (Rob Panero), Michael (Amanda) Grant, Chris (Chelsea) Grant, and Danielle (Roy) Melton. Tom was a proud and doting grandfather to ten grandchildren who will miss his playful spirit and tender embrace. Tom’s beloved dog Maggie will also miss her loyal friend.
He was a brother and friend to many, leaving behind his siblings Phil (Linda) Glomski, Roseanne Miller, Mark Glomski, Chris (Leatha) Glomski, Kathy (Wendell) Gibbs, and Jerry (Glenda) Glomski, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his guidance and humor.
Tom’s interests were as diverse as his skills. An avid hunter, he was a long-time member of the Waneta Hunting Club, where he spent many seasons in the companionship of nature and friends. He was also a great cook, often found manning the BBQ at family gatherings, where his dishes were as much a staple as his jovial presence. His talent for woodworking and his innate ability as a handyman were evident in the home he built with his own hands, a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication. Above all, Tom was a family man, and his gentle nature shone brightest when surrounded by his loved ones.
Tom was also known for his wit and ability to light up a room with his humor. A natural comedian, he provided laughter and joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His sense of humor was a gift that he shared generously, ensuring that memories of him would always bring a smile to our faces. As we say goodbye, we part with Tom’s own words: “Good night, Darlin”.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at McWilliams Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating.
