EVELYN MAE ASKWIG

Evelyn Mae Askwig, 69, of Hubbard Lake, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn Mae Heidenberger was born in Detroit on Sept. 13, 1954, to the late Donald and Goldie (Hanson) Heidenberger. On Aug. 20, 1982, she married Bruce Askwig. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Hubbard Lake. Evelyn enjoyed quilting and knitting and had a passion for cooking and baking.

Surviving are her husband, Bruce; three children, Adena (Ted) Tullar, Jonathan (Kara) Askwig, Michael (Devin) Askwig; four grandchildren, Richelle LaBarge, Trenton, Troy, Trista Tullar; one great-granddaughter, River; sister, Mary Lou (Gary) Hopkins; several nieces, nephews, family and beloved friends.

Visitation will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Hubbard Lake on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Mt. Joy Cemetery
