David Bruce Smith, 70, of Hubbard Lake, passed away on Feb. 3, 2024, at his home.
David was born in Detroit on Oct. 29, 1953, to the late Almieron and Esther (Schubring) Smith. He served in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years retiring in 1992. Dave married Miriam Kalfus on Feb. 26, 1988. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2021. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Surviving are four nieces and nephews, Carlee Dudek, Curtis (Kimberly) Smith, Angie Smith, Mike Smith; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his two brothers, Craig Smith and Raymond Smith.
Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon with the Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating.
Interment: Hubbard Lake Cemetery
