TERRY ALLEN TACKETT

Terry Allen Tackett, 72, of Hillman, peacefully passed away on Jan. 9, 2024, at his home with his children and sister by his side.

Terry was born June 24, 1951, in Pikeville, Ky. to the late Orlando and Bonnie Tackett. On March 19, 1977, he married the love of his life Erma Holly. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage prior to her death on July 25, 2022. Terry was a truck driver for Overnite Transportation/UPS Freight until he retired. Once retired he moved to Hillman in 2015. Terry was known for his sense of humor, his thoughtful nature, and his love of family. He was simultaneously the toughest and nicest guy in the room and was greatly respected by his friends and family. More than anything else he was known for being a good man.

Surviving are his two children, Terry (Kari) Tackett, April Tackett; three siblings, Kim (Tim) Jacobs, Shannon (Tamara) Tackett and Perry (MaryAnn) Tackett.

Terry was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Tackett and Patsy “Pat” (Wayne) Rumsley.

A celebration of his life will be held in the summer.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
