TERESA B. HUNTER

Teresa B. Hunter, 60, of Alpena, passed away at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena on Jan. 11, 2024. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Teresa was born on Feb. 10, 1963, to the late Clarence and Patricia (Smith) Skaggs in Portsmouth, Ohio. On June 8, 1981, she married the love of her life James Hunter in Houston, Texas.

Teresa held many roles in her life. Her favorites were caring for her family and the years she spent as a nanny. She loved her family deeply and sacrificially. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. It brought her great joy to be a part of Friends Together, even though only for a short time. She loved the mission of the organization and what it meant to her and others.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 32 years James, her children, Patricia (Hector) Thompson of Columbus, Ohio, Heather (Sam) Venturella of El Paso, Texas, and Michael Hunter of El Paso, Texas, 10 grandchildren, Alexa, Sal, Hunter, Hope, Isabel, Brayden, Gabe, Adrian, Alex, and Anthony, a sister, Beverly (John) Sizemore, and her faithful fur companions, Mushi and Daisey. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Blake Hunter, and a sister, Donna McClure.

The family will be having a private ceremony but would like to thank Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home for their care of Teresa and compassion for their family during this time of loss.
