Robert J. "Hollywood" Thomson, 82 of Estero, Fla. passed away on Jan. 23, 2024, at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice. Formerly of Alpena, he began visiting Bonita Beach, Fla. in 1980 before making it his permanent home in 1999.
Bob was born Oct. 27, 1941, in North Bennington, Vt. a son of the late Alex and Bertha (Gardner) Thomson. He graduated from North Bennington High School in 1959 and served four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Thomson retired from General Telephone. Bob was an avid golfer and loved all sports, especially NASCAR and basketball. Until recently, Hollywood played senior basketball at the Estero Rec Center.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Sally A. (Zielinski) Thomson; brother, William Thomson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
