MARILYN LOUISE SHARP

Marilyn Louise Sharp, 82 of Alpena passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 after a very short battle with cancer.

Marilyn was born on Oct. 6, 1941, to Robert and Louise (Arlt) Cochrane in Alpena. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1959 and went on to receive her associate degree from Alpena Community College.

In March of 1961, Marilyn married Alvin Sharp and went on to have two children, Amy and Stuart.

After Marilyn’s retirement from Pied Piper School, she had time to pursue her love of golf, playing Bridge, cooking and entertaining family and friends at her hunting camp. Marilyn was also a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Amy Sharp, her son, Stuart (Erin) Sharp, seven grandchildren, Danielle(Chris) McDonald, Andrew (Stacey) Hein, Glen Hein (Chrystal Scherf), Sawyer Hein, Thompson Hein, McKenna (Jason) Timm, Addison (Kaden) Davis, eight great-grandchildren, Evan and Cameron McDonald, Layla, Cecilia, and Theodore Hein, Rayli and Danne Scherf, and Evelyn Hein, her special friend, Tom Castle, and her beloved canine Bella. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise, and two brothers, Robert and Darryl Cochrane.

Marilyn has been taken for cremation with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Alpena. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
