JOSH HENRY LUTEY

JOSH HENRY LUTEY

May 30, 1985 – Jan. 4, 2024

Josh Henry Lutey, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Jan. 4th, 2024, at the age of 38, in Alpena. Born on May 30, 1985, to Debra Gapske and the late Robert Lutey, Josh grew up surrounded by the love of his family.

A skilled mechanic by trade, Josh had an innate ability to breathe life into anything mechanical. His hands were rarely clean, always tinkering, fixing, and creating. He was a familiar face in the local garages and workshops, where his expertise and willingness to lend a hand made him a beloved figure. Josh’s work was not just a job; it was a calling that brought him great satisfaction and respect from all who knew him.

Josh’s passion for mechanics was rivaled only by his love for the open road. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. His sense of adventure and freedom was most evident when he was out on his bike, especially when riding for a cause close to his heart, the Toys for Tots motorcycle run, where he helped raise money for children in need. Josh’s love for life was infectious, and his generous spirit touched the lives of many.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness as a devoted father to Gage Lutey, Adeline Lutey, and Trenton Burns. His children were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, instilling in them the same values of compassion and generosity that he lived by.

Josh’s memory will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Debra (Steve) Gapske, his siblings, Jesse (Val) Stoddard, Robert Lutey, and Crystal Villeneuve, his niece, Victoria (Cody) Krentz, and his nephew, Jayden Stoddard. He was a kind and gentle presence in their lives, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lutey, his grandparents, Richard and Myrtle Lutey, and Thomas and Shirley Hillman, and his uncles, Jim and Jeff Hillman.

Josh has been taken for cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
