DORIS M. GRESKOWIAK
Doris Greskowiak
July 4, 1927 – Jan. 8, 2024
Doris M. Greskowiak, 96, of Alpena, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Besser Senior Living on Jan. 8, 2024. Doris was a cherished Godmother, Aunt, Sister and Daughter. She was born on July 4, 1927 to the late Stanley and Natalie (Krawczak) Greskowiak.
She spent her 38-year career working her way up to supervisor at General Telephone Co. She truly enjoyed working for the phone company. She was a member of All Saints Parish of Alpena and a Rosary Society member.
Doris will be fondly remembered as a very generous Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She always made Christmas extra special with gifts (especially Christmas stockings which she took great delight in filling). Even though she wasn’t a cook she will be remembered by her family, for her “famous potato salad.”
She is survived by her seven nieces and nephews. Alan (Nancy) Kelsey, Claudia (Dan) Minton, Ron (Lynn) Kelsey, Diane Kelsey, Karen (Mike) Summers, Paul (Denise) Kelsey, Elizabeth Piper, and brother-in-law James Piper. Also, several great-nieces and -nephews, and dear friends, Theresa Orban and Doris Stafford. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Natalie Greskowiak, her two sisters, Gladys Kelsey and Dolphine Piper, a brother Ronald Grey and great nephew Ryan Kelsey.
The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the great care Doris received in the memory care unit at Besser Senior Living as well as Hospice Compassus.
Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday Jan. 20, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The rosary society will pray the rosary in the sanctuary starting at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to All Saints of Alpena or Hospice Compassus. Karpus Hunter and Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at www.karpushuntercares.com.
