NORMA DONATA WIRGAU

Norma Donata Wirgau, 89, of Rogers City, passed away on Dec. 19 at Medilodge in Rogers City.

She was born June 29, 1934, in Belknap Township to Adolph and Theresa (Schalk) Brege.

On April 14, 1956, she married Alvis Wirgau at St. John Lutheran Church.

Norma is survived by four children, Bob (Susan) Wirgau of Petoskey, Mary (Ronald) Modrzynski of Effingham, S.C., Sue (Steve) Kandal of Rogers City and Missie (Mark) Karsten of Rogers City; 10 grandchildren, Mindy Wirgau, B.J. Wirgau, Brian (Chelle) Modrzynski, Erik (Cari) Modrzynski, Jacob (Rita) Modrzynski, Joshua (Melissa) Kandal, Ashley Kandal, Jessie (Bill Bruning) Muller, Bret Karsten and Chad (Brooklyn) Karsten; 12 great-grandchildren, Caleb (fiancee, Megan Brege) Karsten, Elise Muller, Dreyden Kandal, Aniya Kandal, Maliyah Kandal, Nathan Kandal, Darius Kandal, Addison Modrzynski, Bryson Modrzynski, Raegan Modrzynski, Margaret Modrzynski and Auryn Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis; and 10 siblings, Harold, Harry, Elmer, Marie Trapp, Edna Hopp, Lucille Schalk, Iva Nonemacher, Hildegarde Radka and Betty Schultz.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at Peace Lutheran Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of her funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Keith Lemley officiating.

Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan.
