LOIS ANN SKIBA
Sept. 26, 1931 – Dec. 24, 2023
Lois Ann Skiba, 92, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at Turning Brook. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by many. Lois was born on Sept. 26, 1931, to the late Eugene and Bernadette (Brousseau) LeTourneau in Alpena. She was a graduate of St. Anne School in 1949.
On Nov. 19, 1949, Lois married the love of her life Albert M. Skiba at St. Anne Catholic Church. Together they raised eight children and were married for 54 years until he preceded her in death in 2004. There were many things in life that Lois enjoyed such as cooking, baking, traveling, and going to the casino, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family especially at family gatherings. Being a homemaker, Lois took great pride in taking care of not only her children but their friends as well. She always made sure everyone was well taken care of and had a warm meal.
Lois is survived by her seven children, Janice (Gerald) Krajniak, Gene (Karen Andrews) Skiba, Jackie (Zenek) Krawczyk, William (Luann) Skiba, Martin (Beth) Skiba, Albert T. (Dawn) Skiba, Jim (Melanie) Skiba, and 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, a sister, June (Gerald) Mills, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert M., a son Kelby Skiba, two brothers, Gerald LeTourneau, Russell “Jim” LeTourneau, and a sister, Donna Compeau.
