JOY ARLENE BISANZ

Joy Arlene Bisanz, 77, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Dec. 4, 2023.

Joy Arlene McQuaid was born in Onaway, Michigan on April 29, 1946, to the late Chester and Georgina (Wilson) McQuaid. Joy worked at Shelter for many years before becoming a full-time seamstress and babysitter of her five grandchildren. She had a passion for books of all genres but especially westerns. She never lacked in conversation with whomever she came in contact with, especially her sewing customers.

Joy is survived by her two sons, Edlorr (Judy) Bisanz, Joseph (Sharon) Bisanz; five grandchildren, Joshua (Rose) Bisanz, Nicole (Cody Watson) Bisanz, Zachary (Abbey) Bisanz, Dalton, Nicholas; two great-grandchildren, Eliza, Addison; sister, Sally Witkowski; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol McQuaid; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde (Sylvia) McQuaid; and brother-in-law, Pete Witkowski.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been made by Bannan Funeral Home.
