LORAIN FRANCES SCHULTZ

Lorain Frances (Bartz) Schultz, 91, of Alpena passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Precious Days.

Lorain was born July 16, 1932, in Spruce, Michigan to the late William and Elsie (Krist) Bartz. On Aug. 19, 1950, she married Franz Schultz. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2018. Lorain walked two miles one way to Beyer School through the eighth grade. She graduated cum laude from Alpena High School in 1950. Lorain worked as a telephone operator. She will be remembered for making the best cookies.

Surviving are her two children, Lyle (Elaine) Schultz, Sandra (Dave) Stonik; four grandchildren, Billie Schultz, Lyle (Cassie) Schultz, Robert Stonik, Anthony (Jessica) Schultz; eight great-grandchildren, Morgan, Erin, Megan, Ellyn, Hunter, Chase, Juliana and Paige.

Visitation will take place Friday at Hope Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Bryan Salminen officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: King Settlement Cemetery
