DOROTHY ANN OHMART

Dorothy (the Dorth) Ann Ohmart passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2023. She was born on Sept. 23, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Michael and Helen (Fesenko) Guzak. On June 25, 1955, she married Donald Ohmart.

The Dorth will be remembered with much love by her loving husband of 68 years, Donald, sons Michael (Karen) Ohmart and Andrew (Tessa) Ohmart, daughter Sarah (Robb) New and a long list of deeply saddened seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, friends, and extended family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Galen and sister, Nadeen Finkbeiner.

She had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known to speak her mind, in hopes of helping you see a new perspective. She embraced the concept of tough love and was fiercely independent and private. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and dysfunction. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.

To know Dorth was to love Dorth, she will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. Dorth was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A private family service will take place. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ACC Foundation or Huron Humane Society.
