Ann K. Suszek, a loving and selfless woman, took her final breath on Nov. 15, 2023, in her hometown of Alpena, where she had been born on July 24, 1940. The daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Trapp) Blemke, she was a shining light in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
From her early days, Ann was a hardworking and dedicated individual. She spent many years working at Ball Tire and Gas and Dehring Distributors, proving herself to be an invaluable asset to both companies. On April 1, 1977, Ann and her late husband, Martin Suszek, embarked on a new journey and started Alpena Diesel. Their business became a staple in the community, and Ann worked there tirelessly until she retired. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her unwavering love for her family.
Ann was the beloved wife of the late Martin Suszek, and their love story is one fondly remembered by all who knew them. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, M. Joel (Cindy) Suszek of Hillman and Mark (Beverly) Suszek of Bolton. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Tyler (Stephanie) Suszek, Cody (Jess) Suszek, and Logan (Emmy) Suszek, as well as her great-grandchildren, Harper, Hadleigh, Raylynn, and Emmett. She loved each of them deeply and played a significant role in their lives. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Bella, who provided her with comfort and companionship.
Ann had a passion for many things, but her interests were firmly rooted in her love for her family and her home. She was an excellent seamstress and an even better cook. She took great pride in keeping her boys in line, a task she performed with strong conviction. Ann was proud of her home on Long Lake, a place that held countless memories for her and her family. Despite her busy schedule, she always found time to spend with her friends and family, cherishing every moment she had with them.
Ann was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was an active participant and faithful servant. Her faith was an essential part of her life, providing her with strength and guidance throughout her years.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Erickson officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Huron Humane Society, or Second Chance Animal Shelter. Arrangements are in the care of McWilliams Funeral Home.
