TERRI LYNN THUSS

Oct. 20, 1959 – Sept. 20, 2023

Terri Lynn Thuss, 63, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on Sept. 20, 2023, peacefully in her sleep.

Terri was born on Oct. 20, 1959, to Gerald and Irene (Wallace) Lefave in Alpena, Michigan. After Terri graduated from Alpena High School in 1977, she went on to study nursing at Alpena Community College.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, she started her first job as an RN at Alpena Regional Medical Center, kickstarting a 24 year career in various areas of the nursing field. In 2019, Terri retired and spent her time playing bingo, traveling, and shopping.

In 1975, Terri met Vance Thompson in Alpena and they were married in 1976. Vance and Terri had two wonderful children; Christopher Thompson and Melissa Mendel. Terri remarried later in life to William (Bill) Thuss in 2007. Terri and Bill relocated from Michigan in 2022 to Tucson, Arizona.

Terri was preceded in death by her mother Irene Wallace, father Gerald Lefave, brothers Randy and Raury Lefave. She is survived by brother Rick Lefave (Lou), sister Gerri (DeeDee) Jurgensmeyer, husband Bill Thuss, son Christopher Thompson (Angie), daughter Melissa Mendel (Spencer), and grandson Owen Mendel.

A celebration of life will be held Sat, Oct. 7 at the VFW on 2900 Connon St. in Alpena from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Red Cross in Terri’s honor.
