STEVEN MICHAEL LEE

Sadly, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, Steven (Stretch/Tank) Michael Lee, a kind, gentle and decent man, lost a brave and courageous battle with esophageal and liver cancer at the age of 63 surrounded by friends and family. He fought the bravest fight of his life with grace, humor and dignity.

Stretch was loved by thousands of people, some he barely knew, due to his 34 years delivering beverages for Alpena Beverage Co. Anyone who had the pleasure of interacting with him loved him deeply due to his work ethic, quick humor and kind nature. He considered everyone he met a true friend.

Throughout the years he coached women’s softball, TBBA basketball and served on that board for over 10 years. He was an avid bowler and golfer, but his most valuable asset was his love of family and making everyone smile with a penchant for donning some pretty crazy outfits. He lived his life with such a calm friendly demeanor that people gravitated to him thus giving him the nicknames that stuck throughout the years. He was a great cook and loved camping, fishing and just spending time with the people he loved.

Stretch married Patti Gilmet on March 11, 1989 in Alpena, Michigan

He is survived by wife Patti, daughter; Amber Snay-Lindros (Corey), son; Andrew Lee, mother; Susan (Wayne) Bobolz, brother; Tim (Kerri) Lee, sister Melissa (Jeff) Finney, the furry freeloaders he loved, Lennon Loudmouth Lee and Clawdia Lee Mew, many special nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his cherished friends.

Preceding him in death were his father Roger Lee (Joanne), sister Cheri Muszynski (Terry), grandparents Ervin and Martha Repke, Roy and Margaret Lee.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place with a private memorial to be held sometime next summer. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Stretch please choose a charity that is dear to your heart or Friends Together of Alpena.
