Michael Robert Nordstrand, known to all as Mike, passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2023, in Howell, Michigan. Born on Christmas Day, 1961, in Alpena, Michigan, Mike was a generous, handy, and selfless man, beloved by all who knew him.
Mike was the son of Judy Nordstrand (Michael Madden) and the late Robert Nordstrand. He was a loving brother to Natalie (Kenney) Summers, Melinda (Greg Quinn) Nordstrand, John (Jodi) Nordstrand. Mike was the cherished father of Jeremy (Jessica), Jason, Nicole, Ryan (Jessica), Hailey, and twins Zachary and Brandon. He was also the adored grandfather of five.
Mike dedicated many years of his life to working with people of special needs, a testament to his selfless nature. His compassion and care extended beyond his professional life, touching the lives of everyone he encountered. After years of dedicated service, he took his passion for helping others to new heights by establishing his own business, "Real Life Living." This venture allowed him to provide direct care for his clients, reflecting his generous spirit and dedication to improving the lives of others.
Alongside his work, Mike had a variety of interests that showcased his creative and social nature. He was an avid golfer, relishing the opportunity to spend a day on the green. His handy skills were evident in his love for remodeling and carpentry, talents that he put to use by crafting beautiful wood tables for his offices. Mike had a passion for celebration, enjoying nothing more than being in the company of others, sharing laughter, stories, and creating lasting memories.
Above all, Mike was a family man. His love for his children was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His Yorkies, Ruthie, and Gus, were also recipients of his endless affection and care.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at McWilliams Funeral Home from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Rayment officiating.
