LUCILLE C. WITHUN

Lucille “Lucy” “Squeak” C. Withun, 78, of Millington, Michigan, passed away peacefully from an extended illness, listening to her favorite music with her son at her side at the hospital in Grand Blanc on Oct. 23, 2023.

Lucy was born in Alpena on July 30, 1945 to Charles and Martha Bryza (Hanna) and married to Richard P. Withun on Feb. 29, 1964. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2009.

Ms. Withun enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and other outdoor adventures in her early years, and later in life she derived the most joy from spending time with friends, mowing the lawn, and volunteering at the Community Center, when she wasn’t riding around in the bucket of the Kubota trimming trees! She also cherished every moment with her Grandson and his family and had a soft spot for other peoples’ dogs.

Surviving is one son, Paul Withun of Millington; one sister, Barbara Donakowski (Hanna) of Alpena; one grandson, David and his wife Vanessa of Prattville, Alabama; three Great-Grandchildren; one Brother-in-Law, Charles of Rose City, Michigan; and four Sisters-in-Law, Laura Withun of Rose City, Pat Hanna of Alpena, Norma Hanna of Alpena, and Kathy Kohler of Holly.

Preceding her in death were five brothers, Chuck, Art, Donald, Robert “Bob”, and Clarence “Mike”; and one sister, Bernice Skiver.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Millington Community Center, Tuscola County Humane Society, Genesee County Humane Society or an Animal Welfare Organization of your choice.

Visitation for Ms. Withun will take place at the Hanlin Funeral Home-Millington, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. with a funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in Millington Township Cemetery, Millington, Michigan.

The family invites you to celebrate the “Life of Lucy” at the Millington Community Center (8705 State Road, Millington, Michigan, 48746) immediately after the interment (approximately 4:15 p.m.).
