Karen Helen Rickle (Cadarette), 74, of Alpena, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 20, 2023, after an extended illness.
Karen was born Nov. 23, 1948, in Alpena to the late William and Bernice (Donnan) Cadarette. On Aug. 12, 1967, she married her soulmate, James Rickle, who lovingly took care of her through her final days.
Karen was a cosmetologist by trade, but her true gift was how she opened her heart and doors to all she loved. Karen was the matriarch of the family; the glue that held everyone together. She was an integral part of her grandchildren’s lives. You never had to wonder what Karen was thinking, with all good intentions, she was quick to offer her opinion. Her sense of humor and infectious laughter would fill a room. Her contagious personality left a permanent imprint on your heart. She will be dearly missed.
Karen was a member of All Saints Parish.
Surviving are her husband, Jim; two daughters, Kari (Glenn) Meyer, Rachelle Coller; four grandchildren, Dakota Meyer, Ki’auna Meyer, Jaida Coller, Chase Coller; brothers Richard (Marlene) Cadarette, Gerald (Darlene) Cadarette, Thomas (Patricia) Cadarette; and sister Mable Lund; special niece, Krist (Pete) Hunter; and several nieces, nephews and greats.
Karen was preceded in death by her sister Donna (James) Clemens, and brothers James (Julia) Cadarette and Dale (June) Cadarette.
Visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at Holy Cross Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
