David B. Sterner Sr., 86, of Harrisville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born May 14, 1937, to Burton and Margerite (Budd) Sterner Sr., he was raised there and in Staten Island, New York. On April 2, 1958, he married Maxine Kudla. Dave served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for many years as a civil engineer at the Wurtsmith Air Force Base. He loved to work on his family farm, where he raised beef cattle. He enjoyed working on vehicles, and helping his friends whenever he could. He was a devoted father, and always made time to attend his kids' activities.
Dave is survived by his wife, Maxine, three children, Wayne (Mary Jane) Sterner, David Sterner Jr., and Kym England, four grandchildren, Mikala, Kara, Lindsey, and Natalie, and one great-grandchild, Hayes. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton Sterner Jr., and Thomas Sterner.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Michigan or to the Alcona County Veterans.
