ROSALIE LOUISE WITTER

June 13, 1927 – Sept. 24, 2023

Rosalie Louise Witter, 96, of Alpena was promoted to the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sept. 24, 2023. There she was reunited with her husband of 57 years and her parents.

Rosalie Louise Knechtel was born June 13, 1927, to the late Robert and Winifred (Stone) Knechtel. On Feb. 7, 1948, she married Willard Witter. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2005.

Rosalie worked for the Alpena Public Schools for 29 years, retiring in 1994. She was active in her church, enjoyed visiting shut-ins and liked to garden, quilt, latch hook rugs, read, bake things to give away, and play Rummikub and Aggravation. Rosalie was hard to beat. Family was important to her and we all will miss her very much.

Left behind to join later are three children, Diann (Danny) Cummings, David (Charlotte) Witter, Debra (Duane) Kendziorski; 11 grandchildren, Sara O’Bry, Krystle Cummings, Daniel Cummings, Benjamin Witter, Adam Witter, Rebekah Benedum, Derrick Kendziorski, Danae Kendziorski, Darren Kendziorski, Devin Kendziorski, Dillon Kendziorski; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, June Goudy; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Rosalie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Goudy.

Visitation will take place Wednesday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. and continue Thursday at First Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Paul Moceri and Pastor Adam Witter officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
