PIPER LOREEN TIMEK
Dec. 26, 1955 – Sept. 26, 2023
Piper Loreen Timek, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2023, in Alpena, after a life filled with creativity, selflessness, and love. Born in Saginaw on Dec. 26, 1955, to the late Denby and Mae-Marie (Slate) Goodman, Piper’s zest for life and love for her community were evident from a young age.
Piper’s professional life was dedicated to serving her community at the Bay View Center where she worked for many years. Her commitment to others extended beyond her work life into every aspect of her being. A creative soul, Piper had a passion for reading and writing. She was a published author and an artist, and her love for the written word led her to start writing clubs, encouraging others to share in her passion.
Piper’s love for all living things was well-known, especially her fondness for animals. She found joy in the simplest of things, like browsing garage sales, but her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with laughter and love, making it a welcoming place for all who entered.
Piper was a beacon of positivity, her strong and uplifting personality lighting up any room she entered. She had a unique ability to find the good in everyone and everything, and her selfless nature made her a friend to all. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all those who knew her.
Piper is survived by her children, Erick (Ronni) Adam, Star (Christopher) Klamut, Donovan Timek; grandchildren, Oden, Nora, Joseph; siblings, Sherry Zemaitis, Traci Phillips, Nick Boork; nieces, Samantha and Allie. Also mourning her loss is her dear friend, Kim (Mark) Gilin, who was like family to Piper.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be directed to the Bay View Center.
