James W. McCoy, 90, of Hubbard Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at his home.

Born May 15, 1933, to Jack and Maude (Cannon) McCoy in Hubbard Lake, Michigan, he was a lifelong resident of the area. Jim served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed working on his farm and as a carpenter. He was known for the beautiful furniture he created with wood taken from his property. He was an avid gardener and loved to share his produce with his community. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and was the cook at the Little North Hunting Club for over 60 years, feeding six generations of hunters.

Jim is survived by two nieces, Sheri (Michael) Geiger and Lori (Jeffrey) Allen, seven great nieces and nephews, and seven great-great nieces and nephews, and his brother-in-law, Richard Maginnis. He was preceded in death by two nephews, Mark Linder and Jon Linder, and his sister, Margaret Maginnis.

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Private memorial services have been held.
