FRANCIS MARION KEEN

Francis Marion Keen, 92, of Alpena passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Francis was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Alpena to the late Frank and Cecilia (Pilarski) Keen. He served in the United States Army. On May 9, 1953, he married Mary Lou Crevier. Francis worked at National Gypsum and Lafarge, retiring in 1990. He was a member of All Saints Parish, Knights of Columbus as an usher and worked Bingo, and past member of American Legion. Francis was a mechanic and enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; two sons, Gerald (Elizabeth) Keen, James (Susan) Keen; five grandchildren, Kayla Keen, Alison (Steven) King, Lauren (Eric) Piatt, Lindsey (Josh) Ward, Courtney (Brad) Blackwell; 11 great-grandchildren, Addison, Cody, Kai, Blasie, Dax, Patton, Luke, Presley, Levi, Maveric, Seeger; two siblings, Robert Keen, Marge (Dan) Betoski; brother-in-law, Leo Tadajewski; and several nieces and nephews.

Francis was preceded in death by his great grandchild, Riley Ward; siblings, Clarence Keen, Geraldine Lucas, Sally Tadajewski; and sister-in-law, Betty Keen.

Memorial visitation will take place Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
