PATRICIA L. LEASK

Patricia L. Leask,87, died on Aug. 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born on March 18, 1936, in Detroit, MI to the late Frank J. and Eva C. (Tykoski) Laurence. She married John E. Leask Sr. on Aug. 25, 1956, in Cheboygan, Michigan. They later made their home in the Alpena area on Long Lake in 1962. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2011. Pat was a loving wife and mother. In addition to raising her family, she held numerous jobs outside the home, retiring as a teachers’ aide with the Alpena Public School System.

She enjoyed playing cards with her children, crochet and knitting, fishing on Long Lake with her husband John, bingo with her friends, casino trips, road trips to the U.P. and Canada. Many family and friends have enjoyed her afghans, pot holders and dish cloths over the years. Pat was a wonderful cook and sustained her family with delicious meals, oftentimes not knowing how many mouths she had to feed on a given day. With numerous friends and family members popping in and out, especially during the summertime, she was always able to find room for one more at the table.

Surviving are her six sons, John (Jane) Leask Jr., Roger (Bev) Leask, Kenneth (Becky) Leask, Steven (Kelli) Leask, Marc (Pat) Leask, and Dennis Leask, and daughter, Lisa (Frank) Fico; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Sr. in 2011; an infant son, Francis; her three sisters, Virginia Cardinal, Evelyn Dollan, and Velma Leask; and one brother, Frank Laurence.

Memorial visitation will take place Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Bannan Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 12 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Patricia asks that memorial gifts be directed to the John E. Leask Sr. Memorial Scholarship at Alpena Community College.
