James L. Cordova, age 81, of Lake Station, Indiana sadly passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on July 22, 2023 at Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana. He spent many years in Alpena, Michigan which will be his final resting place.
James was born in Hooper, Colorado on June 29, 1942 to the late Alfred and Nellie (Cisneros) Cordova.
James served his country in the US Navy after high school graduation. His children were his pride and joy and he so loved his family. He enjoyed woodworking and loved tinkering in the garage and working with his tools fixing things. He also loved nature and watching animals. He loved to sing around the house, share stories of his past and was always happy to be with his family. He spent many years working as a Real Estate Broker in Alpena, Michigan, Phoenix, Arizona and Portage, Indiana. He loved to work with people and socializing.
James is survived by his children: James Jr. (Buddy), Elizabeth (Steve) Benson, Kenneth (KC); stepchildren: Darren (Julie) Dziesinski and Farrah (Marc) Easter; grandchildren: Tyler Cordova, Ava Easter and Jewel Easter; brothers: Al Cordova and Phil Cordova and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Charles and Kenneth Cordova.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Aplex in Alpena, Michigan on Tuesday, Aug. 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
