ROBERT DWIGHT LAKIN

Robert Dwight Lakin, 85, of Alpena passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at home.

Robert was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Detroit to the late John and Lucille (Curry) Lakin. He served in the United States Air Force. Robert worked at Lafarge, retiring in 2000. He served on the board for HPC Credit Union for 40 years, Blue Horizon board member, was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and Alpena Genealogy Society. Robert enjoyed coin and stamp collecting.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two children, Michael (Penny) Lakin, Lisa (Brent Palmer) Lakin; three grandchildren, Angie (Justin) Hood, Alicia (Cody Misiak) Lakin, Brandon Lakin; two great-grandchildren, Caden Lakin, Adalyn Misiak; and brother, Gerald (Jill) Lakin.

Robert was preceded in death by infant daughter, Janell and brother, William Lakin.

Memorial visitation will take place Friday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with military honors at 5 p.m. by Alpena VFW Post 2496. Memorial visitation will continue Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Michaud officiating.
