REUBEN K. DONAJKOWSKI

Reuben K. Donajkowski, 55, of Hubbard Lake passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 21, 2023 of an apparent heart attack.

Reuben was born in Alpena on March 23, 1968, to the late James and Barbara (Wikaryasz) Donajkowski. He enlisted and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Reuben worked as a rural mail carrier in the Hubbard Lake area for 20 years, while engaging in farming, delivering concrete steps and railing, and taking pride in creating decorative benches, paving stones and walkways. He also devoted many years to taking care of his mother before she passed away. His honest and fun-loving personality always shined in his personal and business relationships and in his card playing pastime.

Surviving are his seven siblings, Christopher (Therese) Donajkowski, Nadine Donajkowski, Nathan Donajkowski, Dominic (Stephanie) Donajkowski, Ramona (Scott) Carr, Aric Donajkowski, Sarah (Tim) Benson; 11 nieces, nephews; 10 great-nieces and -nephews.

Reuben was preceded in death by his brother, Gabriel.

Visitation will take place on Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at noon with the Rev. Basil Lek officiating. Military honors will be accorded him by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
