MARILYN JEAN (McCARTY) LUMSDEN

Marilyn Jean (McCarty) Lumsden passed from this life into the arms of her beloved savior on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Marilyn Jean McCarty was born July 5, 1937, to the late Frank & Elizabeth (Wood) McCarty in Benton, Illinois. She met the love of her life, Alvin Lumsden, on a bus ride to Chicago and they were married in Long Rapids on Nov. 26, 1955. Alvin and Marilyn made their home in Long Rapids where they raised their daughters Elizabeth and Elsie. Marilyn spent many years working for Wayne Wire in Hillman and was also an upholsterer.

Surviving are her daughters Elizabeth (Ruben) Kirschner and Elsie (Scott) Wilson. grandchildren: Kenneth (Jamie) Kirschner, Suzanne Kirschner, Heather (Daniel) Rossi, Joseph (Chelsie) Kirschner, David (Kassi) Kirschner, and Hillary Lancaster (Aaron Sroka). great-grandchildren: Chara, Javon, Ian, Eli, Benjamin, Joey, Greyson, Charlotte, Abraham, Isaiah. brothers: John (Noma) McCarty, Carl McCarty, Mike (Angie) McCarty, many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin, her dear grandson Dale Arthur Kirschner, brothers Earl McCarty, Leonard McCarty, Robert McCarty, Steve McCarty, and sister Hazel Kearney.

Visitation will take place Tuesday at Bannan Funeral Home from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Arnie Kirschner officiating.

Interment: Long Rapids Township Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Lumsden to Promedica Hospice.
