JAMES ANTHONY ‘JIM’ WIESCHOWSKI

James Anthony Wieschowski, “Jim”, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, in Gaylord.
Born on May 12, 1946, in Alpena to the late John and Cecelia (Skiba) Wieschowski, Jim lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family. Jim was a man of many talents and interests. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent many years serving as a produce manager at Midway Supermarket before retiring from Omni Metalcraft Corporation. His work ethic was admired by all who knew him and was a testament to his dedication and commitment. A past member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a man of faith and served his community with humility and grace. Jim’s interests extended beyond his work and service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. These activities brought him peace and allowed him to share his love for nature with his family. Music was a significant part of Jim’s life. His talent for playing the guitar led him to perform with several bands over the years. His love for music was infectious, and he often shared this passion with his family, creating beautiful memories filled with songs and laughter. Jim was a loving and devoted family man.
He is survived by his children, Kriste (Lee) Alexander, Wendy Wieschowski, James II, and Todd. His legacy will continue to live on through his grandchildren, Brett, Haley, Hannah, Jesse, Amber, Breanna, Brittany, and Ricky Jr., as well as his 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy McConnell, and his faithful dog and companion, Lady. Preceded in death by his grandsons Dustin and Zachary, brothers Richard and Delmar, and sister Carol Alexander, Jim’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 3, 2023 at McWilliams Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie Nye officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
