ELEANOR IRENE PLACHTA

Dec. 5, 1927 – July 2, 2023

Eleanor Irene Plachta, 95, of Alpena passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at home.

Eleanor Irene Tomaski was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Gaylord, Michigan to the late Walter and Helen (Kuzmik) Tomaski. On Aug. 23, 1947, she married Edward Plachta Jr. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1986. Eleanor was an avid reader and awesome grandmother.

Surviving are her four children, Gregory (Kristine) Plachta, Marie (Donald) Witt, Walter (Theresa) Plachta, James (Lisa) Plachta; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Whittaker and Patricia (Dave) Gardner.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Plachta and brother, Floyde Tomaski.

Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home. Body donation was made to the University of Michigan Anatomical Donations Program.
