DENNIS GERHOLD SCHMIDT

Dennis Gerhold Schmidt, 63, of Alpena passed away suddenly on Monday, July 10, 2023, at home.

Dennis was born in Dearborn, Michigan on May 13, 1960, to the late Albert and Inge (Michalzik) Schmidt. On August 27, 1988, he married Margaret “Peggy” Willis. Dennis was one who simply enjoyed life and loved everyone. He enjoyed camping with his family, fishing with his friends, and walking around the yard with Millie. Dennis will certainly be missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Surviving are his loving wife, Peggy, along with his three children, Andrea, Garret, and Erika. He is also survived by his best furry friend Millie, his granddog; mother-in-law, Lois Willis; brothers, Dudley (Sue) Schmidt, Scot Schmidt; sister-in-law, Kimberly (Ed) Eisenhut; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Schmidt-Coleman along with his father-in-law, Richard Willis and mother-in-law, Ann Willis.

Cremation arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
