IRMA BURZICH

Irma Zarske was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Herron, Michigan at home on the family farm to Pauline Pearl and Gustav Zarske. As a child she attended a one room schoolhouse and later attended and graduated from Alpena High School. After high school she worked at Spen’s Pharmacy for many years, during this time she met Leon Burzich. They were married on Jan. 26, 1952, in Alpena, Michigan and were blessed with three children Charlene, Tina, and Brian. Leon preceded her in death in 2013. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena for many years. Irma enjoyed camping and being outdoors, but her true passion and love was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her three children Charlene (Gerald) Sommerfeld, Tina Burzich (Roy Millard) of Alpena and Brian Burzich (Maria Robinson) of White Lake Michigan; five grandchildren Keith Sommerfeld, Melanie Underwood (Tom), Benjamin Millard, Rachael Brown (Adrian), Nick; nine great grandchildren, Audriana (Brianna), Logan, Lauren, Lucy, Lia, Lainey, Addison, Layla, and Breydon.

Irma was preceded in death by her siblings, Florence, Ester, Arnie, Carl, Lucille, and Ronald.

Visitation will take place Monday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. and continue Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend James Erickson officiating.

Interment: Wolf Creek Cemetery
