RANDY EDWIN HATCH

Randy Edwin Hatch, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023. He was born on Jan. 6, 1955, to the late Edwin and Dorothy (Lay) Hatch. Randy was a friendly, interesting, and thoughtful man who touched the lives of many throughout his 68 years.

A proud graduate of Alpena High School, Randy was a talented painter by trade. His dedication to his craft and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him. He was also an active member of the Alpena Moose Lodge, where he formed many lasting friendships and enjoyed giving back to his community.

Randy had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed reading, cooking for family gatherings, and playing horseshoes. His love for these hobbies was only surpassed by his love for his family. Randy’s commitment to his loved ones was evident in the time and care he devoted to them, as well as the memories they created together.

Randy is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Randy (Elyse) Hatch, Amanda Hatch, Ariane (Don) Wood, and Kyle Hatch; stepson, Steve (Traci) Boyle; three stepdaughters, Lisa Boyle, Mellisa (Todd) Ballard, and Jessica Szatkowski (Jason); siblings, Cindy (Bill) Hall, Carol Owen, Tracy Hatch (Dave Kelsey), Sophie (Thomas) Tocktoo, and Dawn (Mike) Nash; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Baxter, and a grandchild.

Randy has been taken for cremation with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
