SHIRLEY ANN MacKENZIE

Shirley Ann Schryer was born Feb.1, 1929, in Alpena to the late William and Emma (Glenni) Schryer. On April 15, 1950, she married Orville MacKenzie. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2019. Shirley was a lifetime resident of Alpena and graduated from Alpena High School. She worked at State Farm, WBKB TV, and VanWagnen Optometry. Shirley was an active member of All Saints Parish and volunteered for Hospice and the Friendship Room. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and watching hockey.

Surviving are her sons, Mike (Christine) MacKenzie, Scott MacKenzie; daughter-in-law, Lyn MacKenzie; five grandchildren, Jamie (Troy) Miller, Samantha (Tyler) Jones, Eric (Megan) MacKenzie, Brad (Kathy) MacKenzie, C.J. (Kelsey) MacKenzie; 11 great-grandchildren, Maryn, Mattsen, Lily, Tysen, Haddie, Max, Cooper, Porter, Marlowe,Tavish, and Owen.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Kevin MacKenzie and daughter-in-law, Lori MacKenzie.

Visitation will take place Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Bannan Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. and continue Monday at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.
