ROSALIE JUNE VOORHEES

Rosalie June Voorhees, 7 months, went to Heaven peacefully on March 28, 2023, in her loving parents arms.

Rosalie June Voorhees was born Sept. 1, 2022, with a rare brain condition called semi lobar holoprosencephaly. She came into the world fighting and defied so many odds.

She was born at and spent almost the entirety of her life at Motts Children’s Hospital at U of M, where she received so much love and care from all of her amazing nurses and doctors. Her parents and big brother Waylon never left her side. There wasn’t a day that passed when Rosie wasn’t fully loved and supported.

Rosie was so incredibly loved by her family and everyone who met her. Her big green eyes and beautiful eyelashes would always light up the entire room. She loved looking around, making eye contact and studying her surroundings. She also loved snuggling, sitting up in her boppy, her pacifier and lots of music. She gave us the most beautiful seven months with her on earth and showed everyone how precious every day is. We know she is in heaven now, healed and we take comfort in knowing we will see her again someday.

Surviving are her parents, Derek and Hannah; big brother, Waylon; grandparents, Julia and Jonathan Brun, Christopher and Sara LaPlaunt, Tina (Mike Smith) Rettie; numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will take place Tuesday at Word of Life Baptist Church from 12 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Decker officiating. Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: King Settlement Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Ann Arbor.
